Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist Christian Warriors vs. St. Thomas Episcopal Saints

The First Baptist Christian Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the St. Thomas Episcopal Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. First Baptist Christian's defense has only allowed 25.9 points per game this season, so St. Thomas Episcopal's offense will have their work cut out for them.

First Baptist Christian's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Westbury Christian offense got past them. First Baptist Christian snuck past Westbury Christian with a 60-56 win on Tuesday. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Rachel Froedge was nothing short of spectacular: she went 8 for 18 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Episcopal didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Northland Christian on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 30-26 victory.

First Baptist Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for St. Thomas Episcopal, their record is now 2-4.

First Baptist Christian was dealt a bruising 63-21 loss at the hands of St. Thomas Episcopal when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can First Baptist Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
