Baseball Game Preview: Clinton County Bulldogs vs. Cumberland County Panthers

For the second straight game, Clinton County will face off against Cumberland County. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clinton County has three straight victories, Cumberland County has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Clinton County beat Cumberland County 6-1.

Zack Poore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caleb Thrasher, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tucker Casada, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Clinton County pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cumberland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
