Softball Recap: Larkin Royals vs. McHenry Warriors
Larkin and McHenry squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Larkin had to settle for second. They fell just short of the McHenry Warriors by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Larkin of the 14-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Larkin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Salazar, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Salazar has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.
Larkin's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-15. As for McHenry, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-10.
As of now, neither Larkin nor McHenry have any future games scheduled.
