Basketball Game Preview: Ferris Saxons vs. Central Valley Bears

Ferris is 1-9 against Central Valley since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ferris Saxons will look to defend their home court against the Central Valley Bears at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Ferris took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-58 win over Lewis & Clark. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Saxons have posted since January 30, 2024.

Ferris got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Chisholm out in front who went 6 for 14 on her way to 12 points and eight boards. Those 12 points gave Chisholm a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mateia Eschenbacher, who posted 19 points and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Central Valley put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Kennewick by a score of 62-51. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Lions are ranked 36th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ferris' victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Central Valley, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
