Volleyball Game Preview: Rochester Rockets vs. Pleasant Plains Cardinals

The Rochester Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Pleasant Plains Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Plains took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rochester, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Rochester earned a 2-0 win over Jacksonville. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Crimsons: they've now won nine in a row.

Rochester easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Plains came up short against Glenwood on Wednesday and fell 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost three in a row.

Pleasant Plains couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Glenwood a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 31-29, 25-13.

Pleasant Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Rochester, their win bumped their record up to 24-8.

Rochester was able to grind out a solid victory over Pleasant Plains in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
