Baseball Recap: St. Charles East Comes Up Short

St. Charles East couldn't beat Wheaton-Warrenville South on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Fighting Saints fell 9-4 to the Tigers. The Fighting Saints were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 13-11.

Ryan McGrew made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

St. Charles East has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-17.

While St. Charles East had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
