Volleyball Recap: Chester Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Chester lost against Great Falls back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cyclones took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. While the Cyclones didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Devils 25-20 in the first set.

Chester started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 27-25, 26-24.

Great Falls was led to victory by Lily Grace Kennington and Payson Brantley. Kennington had 15 kills and three blocks, while Brantley had eight kills, six digs, and four aces. Those 15 kills gave Kennington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Manning, who had 20 assists.

Chester's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Great Falls, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-0-1.

Coming up, Chester will face off against Thornwell at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cyclones are facing the Saints at the right time seeing as the Saints are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Great Falls, they will take on Lewisville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Red Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season.
