Volleyball Game Preview: Sierra Vista Dons vs. Monrovia Wildcats

The Sierra Vista Dons will head out on the road to square off against the Monrovia Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Vista will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Sierra Vista got the win against Garey by a conclusive 3-0.

While Sierra Vista won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Monrovia didn't have quite enough to beat San Marino on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Wildcats have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Monrovia took San Marino into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 24-26, 15-9.

Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Sierra Vista, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Sierra Vista might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Monrovia when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Sierra Vista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
