Baseball Recap: Boca Raton Takes a Loss

If Boca Raton was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Royal Palm Beach last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Boca Raton Bulls on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Bulls: they've now lost four in a row.

Christian Olsen stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. Mylo Pereira also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Boca Raton's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for West Boca Raton, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boca Raton will head out to square off against Saint Andrew's at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Scots' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Boca Raton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight.
