Softball Recap: Pioneer Valley's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pioneer Valley had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Atascadero Greyhounds 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Pioneer Valley got a great performance from Ciena Acosta as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Acosta has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mila Dolores, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kahlia Melton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triples of the season.

Pioneer Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atascadero only posted a batting average of .111.

Pioneer Valley's record is now 17-11. As for Atascadero, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Pioneer Valley nor Atascadero have any future games scheduled.
