Basketball Recap: Wylie's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Wylie picked up another tournament win on Friday. They came out on top against the A&M Consolidated Tigers by a score of 42-34. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Tigers are ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wylie is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for A&M Consolidated, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Wylie has already played their next matchup, a 41-35 victory against Rock Hill on the 28th. As for A&M Consolidated, they will square off against Brenham at 6:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
