Basketball Game Preview: Frontier Mustangs vs. Pawnee Black Bears

The Frontier Mustangs will challenge the Pawnee Black Bears at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Frontier has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Frontier is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since February 8, 2024 on Friday. They blew past Yale, posting a 60-22 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Pawnee sidestepped Newkirk for a 34-32 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Black Bears.

Frontier's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Pawnee, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
