Softball Recap: Randolph Comes Up Short

Randolph had lost six straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-12-1 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Cole Cougars by a score of 6-5. The Ro-Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Raelynn Fowler put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 17 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Fowler wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Claire Kistler, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

As for Cole, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 11, 2025.

On Cole's side, Sophia Flores spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Cole let Zoe Foy and Heidi Ingram run wild. Foy went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double, while Ingram went 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Foy has posted since back in April of 2025. Analey Navarro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Cole has already played their next contest (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Randolph will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' matchup: after the Cougars face off against Non Varsity Opponent, they'll take on Randolph again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
