Baseball Recap: Plainfield East Comes Up Short

Plainfield East fell victim to Lemont and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lemont HS. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bengals were not able to get on the board.

Plainfield East has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season. As for Lemont, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2-1.

Looking ahead, Plainfield East will square off against Yorkville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lemont, they will welcome Hillcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.75 runs per game on average), something the Lemont HS will no doubt try to take advantage of.
