Baseball Game Preview: University Trojans vs. Ellison Eagles

University has gone 8-2 against Ellison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Ellison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on University, who comes in off a win.

University can't be too worried about heading out to take on Ellison: they just beat Belton at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Trojans came out on top against the Tigers on Thursday by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Brandon Wiese spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on D'Angelo Alvarado, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Ellison's offense. They came up short against Lake Belton on Thursday, falling 13-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Ellison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for University, their record is now 12-7.

Everything went University's way against Ellison in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as University made off with a 19-2 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
