Softball Recap: Ridgewood [Alwood/Cambridge]'s Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] couldn't beat Annawan-Wethersfield on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Spartans fell just short of the Titans by a score of 8-7. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Kenlee Carlson and Mackenzie Peck stepped up to the plate in a big way. Carlson went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Peck went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The loss snapped Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 21-8 record. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, their record now sits at 15-17.

Looking ahead, Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will take on Biggsville West Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Heat will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, they will challenge Bureau Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Storm's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
