Basketball Recap: Sayre Comes Up Short

Sayre was the 55-41 winner over Lexington Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 55-53 on Saturday.

Sayre dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Lexington Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Sayre has already played their next contest (against Louisville Collegiate), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lexington Christian, they will challenge Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
