Hoover entered their tilt with Reno on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Reno Huskies by a score of 57-46. The win was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 285th in California, while the Huskies are ranked seventh in Nevada).

Hoover's record now sits at 8-3. As for Reno, they moved to 8-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Hoover and West will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for Reno, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Damonte Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
