Soccer Game Preview: Redlands East Valley vs. Citrus Valley

The Redlands East Valley Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Citrus Valley Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Redlands East Valley is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Beaumont just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Wildcats happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 13th.

Their goal came courtesy of Jayden Perkins, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Citrus Valley came up short against Cajon on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Blackhawks have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Citrus Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-12-2. Redlands East Valley's draw makes their record 12-3-4 this season.

Redlands East Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Citrus Valley when the teams last played back in January, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redlands East Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
