Volleyball Recap: Western Brown Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Western Brown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Richmond Lions. The Broncos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Western Brown wouldn't go down easily and took New Richmond into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 21-19.

Lucy Carlton paced Western Brown's offense, picking up 15 kills. Carlton got some help from Lila McCarty and her 37 assists. Carlton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Western Brown's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for New Richmond, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Western Brown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Williamsburg on the 18th. As for New Richmond, they will square off against Goshen at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
