Basketball Recap: Tenino Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Tenino had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Elma Eagles by a score of 56-49 on Wednesday. The Beavers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac McGaffey, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and four steals. McGaffey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Traden Carter, who had 14 points and three steals.

Tenino's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11. As for Elma, their record now sits at 8-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hoquiam the next time they take the court. Tenino will host Hoquiam at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, while Elma will head out to face them at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
