Baseball Recap: Holtville Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Holtville owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Imperial Tigers 1-0. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Tigers on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-0 defeat.

Not much got past Ayden Avila, who gave up just five hits to keep Imperial off the board. Avila also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Holtville is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-19 otherwise.

At the plate, Holtville's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bradyn Terrill, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Holtville's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-20. As for Imperial, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-12 record.

As of now, neither Holtville nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
