Football Recap: Living Word Lutheran Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Living Word Lutheran unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Lourdes Knights 42-14 on Thursday. The Timberwolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.

Defeat or not, Living Word Lutheran got some senior leadership from Gavin Weissenburger and Markus Griffin. Weissenburger picked up 201 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Griffin rushed for 78 yards and one score on only seven carries. Weissenburger's longest reception was for an incredible 89 yards.

Coming up, Living Word Lutheran will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Howards Grove at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Lourdes, they will square off against Reedsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
