Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Calvary Christian extended their postseason success on Thursday against Cardinal Mooney. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Morgen Talley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Calvary Christian let Julia Tamulski and Braylee Rano run wild. Tamulski went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Rano went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Caoili, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Calvary Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cardinal Mooney only posted an OBP of .217.

The win (which was Calvary Christian's seventh in a row) raised their record to 25-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Cardinal Mooney, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

As of now, neither Calvary Christian nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
