Softball Recap: North Pole Falls Short Against Ranked Delta

North Pole faced Delta in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots fell 10-6 to the Huskies. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost nine in a row.

Jordi Darby and Kiah Weimer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Darby went 2-for-3 with two triples and one run, while Weimer went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Rylee Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

North Pole's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Delta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Coming up, North Pole is taking a road trip to square off against Lathrop at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delta, they will be playing at home against Monroe Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Rams have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
