Baseball Recap: University Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Chaparral Bobcats on Friday by a score of 5-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Bobcats last Tuesday, they had to take a 5-2 loss.

University's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Wiese, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Asa Sutton was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

University pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Chaparral, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. University will challenge rival Belton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chaparral is set to take on their familiar foe Waco at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
