Basketball Recap: Heritage Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Heritage won the last time they faced Amherst County and things went their way on Monday too. The Heritage Pioneers put the hurt on the Amherst County Lancers with a sharp 60-39 victory. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Lancers are ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amherst County's loss came despite strong showings from Levi Campbell and Devonte Wade. Campbell posted ten points and six boards, while Wade went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Wade a new career-high.

Heritage pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. As for Amherst County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.
