Softball Recap: Interlake Takes a Loss

If Interlake was feeling good fresh off their 11-3 takedown of Tyee last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints fell just short of the Mercer Island Islanders by a score of 13-12 on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (11), the Saints still had to take the loss.

Tali Estolano led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. Jacky Jimenez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Interlake's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Mercer Island, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Interlake will face off against Lindbergh at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mercer Island, they will square off against Highline at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
