Softball Recap: Stephenson Comes Up Short

Stephenson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Superior Central Cougars, falling 17-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-1 on Thursday.

Taylor Schultz made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Lilly Nicholson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Stephenson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Superior Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Stephenson will square off against Cedarville at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Superior Central, they will host Manistique at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
