Basketball Recap: Cottage Takes a Loss

Cottage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 64-44 to the Howard Hawks. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Cottage lost, don't look at Maxwell Lagan. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 31 points and nine boards. The game was Lagan's 12th in a row with at least 15 points.

Keegan Roberts went supernova For Howard., putting up 25 points. Roberts is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Elias Garner was another key player, scoring 12 points.

Cottage's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Howard, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Cottage will face off against Oak Mountain Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
