Volleyball Recap: Omaha South Takes a Loss

Omaha South lost against Omaha Central last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Packers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Jasmae Thompson paced Omaha South's offense, picking up three kills. Thompson got some help from Genesis Ruiz and her five assists. Jazmin Garcia Alvarez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leading Omaha Central to victory were Aibreann Conn and Presley Vacek. Conn had six aces and two assists, while Vacek had nine digs and two assists. That's the most aces Conn has posted over her last nine matches.

Omaha South has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Omaha Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-16.

Omaha South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Omaha North on the 20th. As for Omaha Central, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Omaha Westside on the 20th.
