Hondo Valley came into Thursday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Corona/Vaughn Cardinals with a sharp 71-45 victory on Thursday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Hondo Valley's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-12. As for Corona/Vaughn, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Hondo Valley will head out to challenge Reserve at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Reserve has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
