Football Recap: Trinity Christian Homeschool Comes Up Short at Home Against Cornerstone Christian

Trinity Christian Homeschool unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Cornerstone Christian Eagles by a score of 65-62 on Friday. The close matchup was extra heartbreaking for Trinity Christian Homeschool, who almost overcame a 25 point deficit.

Despite the defeat, Trinity Christian Homeschool had strong showings from Jacob Peoples, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and Gage Davis, who gained 153 total yards and two touchdowns.

Colby Harrison had a dynamite game For Cornerstone Christian., rushing for 115 yards and four TDs on only 14 carries, while also picking up 33 receiving yards. Harrison also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, making 13 total tackles, and defending one pass. Ruddick Williams was in the mix too, providing Cornerstone Christian with two scores.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Trinity Christian Homeschool and Tabernacle will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will welcome Russell Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
