Football Recap: Maroa-Forsyth Piles Up the Points Against Pittsfield

Maroa-Forsyth put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to the Pittsfield Saukees for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-6 victory. The 46-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Maroa-Forsyth got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryne Sheppard out in front who threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 64 yards on only six carries. Cayden Birmingham was in the mix too, providing the Trojans with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Maroa-Forsyth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Maroa-Forsyth's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Dilsharan Singh was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. The game marked his first with multiple sacks this season.

Maroa-Forsyth's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Pittsfield, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Maroa-Forsyth wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 50-36 defeat against Olympia on the 10th. As for Pittsfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-14 loss against Pleasant Plains on the 10th.
