Basketball Recap: Nettleton Comes Up Short

Nettleton lost against Greene County Tech back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Nettleton Raiders took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greene County Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was E'Marriha Johnson out in front who went 5 of 7 en route to 17 points along with seven boards and three steals. Johnson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Weslyn Burnside was another key player, going 6 for 12 on her way to 20 points.

Nettleton's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Greene County Tech, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.

Nettleton has already played their next match (against Batesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Greene County Tech will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Memphis at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Greene County Tech has won seven straight at home, while West Memphis won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
