Soccer Game Preview: Enumclaw vs. Auburn Mountainview

Enumclaw hasn't had much luck against Auburn Mountainview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Enumclaw Hornets will take on the Auburn Mountainview Lions at 7:30 p.m. Enumclaw's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Enumclaw took a four-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Decatur, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Enumclaw narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Decatur 2-1. The Hornets wouldn't have won without Landon Breidenbach, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Auburn Mountainview faced Kent-Meridian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Auburn Mountainview's defense stepped up to hand Kent-Meridian a 2-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Auburn Mountainview now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Enumclaw, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.

Enumclaw came up short against Auburn Mountainview when the teams last played back in April of 2019, falling 3-1. Can Enumclaw avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
