Softball Recap: Todd County Central Rebels vs. Russellville Panthers

After flying high against Kenwood last Saturday, Todd County Central came back down to earth. The Rebels fell just short of the Russellville Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Rebels were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Olivia Weikel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Addison Woodall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Rylann Griggs also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Todd County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Russellville, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Coming up, Todd County Central will take on Edmonson County in a tournament on Saturday. As for Russellville, they will venture away from home to face off against Warren Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
