Football Game Preview: Sachse Mustangs vs. North Forney Falcons

The Sachse Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the North Forney Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Sachse is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Rowlett just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Despite the defeat, Sachse had strong showings from Marcus Rhoden, who picked up 182 receiving yards and three scores, and Christian McCaffrey, who threw for 248 yards and three TDs. McCaffrey's passing game has become a key predictor of the Mustangs' success: the team is 5-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Rockwall kept up with North Forney until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Falcons blew past the Yellowjackets 63-39. Considering the Falcons have won seven contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sachse better keep an eye on Legend Bey. He was instrumental in North Forney's win, rushing for 270 yards on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 203 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes. Bey really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run. Andikan Asuquo also helped out as he racked up 190 rushing yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something North Forney proved: they limited Rockwall to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Aayden Minger for the heroic effort on defense: he. North Forney didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.8.

The win (which was North Forney's third in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games. As for Sachse, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
