Basketball Recap: Charlie Costello's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Atlantic Christian over Doane Academy

Atlantic Christian was the 74-58 winner over Doane Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Atlantic Christian Cougars fell 67-58 to Doane Academy on Friday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Costello, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Dawkins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Atlantic Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Doane Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Atlantic Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-33 win against King's Christian on the 10th. As for Doane Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-42 victory against Florence Township Memorial on the 7th.
