Hondo waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-34 W against the Crystal City Javelinas. That's more bragging rights for the Owls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was another big night for Kolten Alvarez, who rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns.

Hondo's record now sits at 7-1. As for Crystal City, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hondo is set to take on their familiar foe Jourdanton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crystal City will challenge rival Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
