The heavy lifting was done by Jayden Carrillo and Jamarieh Hector, who racked up all seven sacks between them. With that strong performance, Hector is now averaging an impressive 6.3 total tackles per game. Mekhi Free was another major factor on D, making a tackle and defending a pass in addition to snagging three interceptions.
Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Highland, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Eastside was taken down by Highland 58-8 in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Eastside was down 37-0.
