Baseball Recap: Crestwood Comes Up Short

Crestwood came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-0 to the Pittston Patriots. The Comets have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Crestwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb McManus, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Crestwood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pittston, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestwood will head out to face off against Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.83 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pittston, they are taking a road trip to take on Hazleton Area at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
