Basketball Recap: Shiner Comes Up Short

If Shiner was riding high fresh off their 52-23 takedown of Calhoun last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shiner Comanches had to suffer through a 53-26 loss at the hands of the Flatonia Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Comanches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 218th).

Shiner's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Flatonia, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Louise the next time they take the court. Shiner will head out to face Louise at 10:00 a.m. on December 31st, while Flatonia will host them at 1:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
