Basketball Recap: Brazosport Skates Past Rudder with Ease

The Brazosport Exporters really took it to the Rudder Rangers for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-30 win. Given the Exporters' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Rangers are ranked 1486th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Rudder saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kalvin Bell almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Brazosport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Rudder, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Brazosport and Rudder will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Exporters see the court they'll take on Columbia at 2:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Rudder, their break will end when they face Big Spring at 6:40 p.m. on the 29th.
