Recap: Snow Hill Eagles vs. Decatur Seahawks

If the Snow Hill Eagles were riding high off their 55-21 takedown of the Mardela Warriors last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Snow Hill fell to Decatur 58-52. Snow Hill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Decatur apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Decatur got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jozlyn Tyre out in front who scored 17 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyre has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Swift, who scored ten points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.

Snow Hill dropped their record down to 8-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Decatur, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Snow Hill will head out on the road to square off against Parkside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Decatur, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully St. Andrew's Episcopal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Thursday.
