South Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 63-55 to the Grants Pass Cavemen. On the bright side, the 55- point performance marked the Saxons' highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the loss, South Salem still got an impressive performance from Kellen Bowman, who threw for 692 yards and five touchdowns. Wongani Schlegel was Bowman's top target, picking up 163 receiving yards and one TD.

South Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Grants Pass, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, South Salem will head out on the road to take on Sprague at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
