Melbourne put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2019.

Addison Balavender made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting three hits from her three at bats. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Layna Ayala was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Cottrill, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Melbourne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.

Melbourne's record is now 13-0. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-3 record this season.

Melbourne has already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Steinbrenner on the 3rd. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-7 win against South Lake on the 1st.
