Volleyball Recap: Northview Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kyra Ervin and Jade Hagan

If Northview was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bowling Green on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

While Northview was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17, 25-20.

Northview's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jade Hagan, who had 12 digs, and Kyra Ervin, who had seven digs. Frankie Ramsdell-Washington also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Perrysburg was led to victory by Ali Cherry and Alana Jackson. Cherry had 15 digs and four assists, while Jackson had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Jackson a new career-high.

Northview's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Perrysburg, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Northview will venture away from home to challenge Steele at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Perrysburg, they will welcome Findlay at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
