Baseball Recap: Jones Wins Going Away Against Lindblom

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. Jones blew past Lindblom 10-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jones also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Gabe Manier tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jones is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Christophe DeWijkerslooth was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Antonio Macedo was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Jones always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the victory, Jones broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-14. As for Lindblom, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Jones will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lindblom: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
