Soccer Recap: Jersey Comes Up Short

After flying high against East Alton-Wood River on Wednesday, Jersey came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Mascoutah Indians on Thursday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Jersey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Mascoutah are ranked 99th).

Jersey's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Mascoutah, they moved to 7-7-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Jersey will square off against Waterloo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mascoutah, they will challenge Breese Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
